Dum-Dum-da-Dum

I apologize...
that was my most pathetic attempt at trying to put the wedding march tune in your head.
Pathetic, I know...
but I wanted to set the tone for this post.
My last post was one in which we celebreated
Jas' cousin, Eric and her upcoming wedding to her wonderful fiancee', Ryan.
{Flash-Forward a month}
This post is celebrating their actual wedding.

I do love a good family wedding...
especially, in the summer!
It gives us a time to be together and see relatives that we don't see nearly often enough
{insert busy lives, work, children, pregnancy's, being spread out across states
(and even countries)}
...and it gives our girls a chance to be around their cousins.

So in true Skaug-Fashion,
we like to slip in just before the wedding is to begin...
so as we were getting situated,
Oobie-Doobie was busy being the family historian and snapping lots of pics of everyone.

Erin looked radiant.
And her dad couldn't have been more proud!

In all honestly,
the thought of Jas one day walking our girls down the isle,
puts an immediate lump in my throat.

"Do you Ryan take Erin to be your bride?"

"And do you Erin take Ryan to be your husband?"

"I now pronounce you husband and wife...""You may now kiss your bride..."

A and I were eagerly awaiting the reception to begin...
...so we decided to get our groove on a little early.

As chairs were being situated and tables set up,
we were given a great opportunity to visit and catch up with each other.

Bri, S and Jas grew up like brothers...
and while they don't get to see each other nearly enough,
it's sure fun for me to see how much they love each other.

lots of momma's trying to get pics of all of our kiddo's together...

proved to be A LOT more challenging than you would think.

although I am partial to the one on the left.

We had a lot of time to kill in between the photographer's pictures...
the kiddo's decided it was the perfect opportunity to have a
'grape-fight' and play hide and seek.

A and Auntie Yo-Lo...with little man, A, sneaking up behind them.

We took full advantage of the rows and rows of grapes...

A little 'prom-ish' I'll admit....
but he's just so darn handsome,
I couldn't resist.

Uncle B and I enjoyed catching up while we watched the kiddo's break it down on the dance floor.

And then it got serious...

They were so much fun to watch...

I hope they always like each other as much as they did here.

And to cap off the night,
we employed Oobie for one last shot.
I love it!

Time for a Shower...

Life is busy...
just plain busy...
there I said it...
it's out there!!!
I am not one who can sit around on the couch and lounge...
to know me is to know that...
however, life seems so darn busy right now,
that just sitting on the couch to quietly read a magazine seems down right dreamy these days!

In the course of the last month:

* A has 'graduated' Kindergarten and is eagerly anticipating 1st grade.

* Had had her preschool orientation.

* Jas left a job that he'd had for the past 9 years and took a leap of faith into a new company (change is not something we do well, but this seemed to fit our family too perfectly).

* Jas has also kept busy with a few side-jobs (keeping him busy, but what a huge blessing for our family).

* My friend, Margee and I opened our own little shop in her barn and had our inaugural sale...it was a great success and we had a ball and also got to see some new and some familiar faces.

* I have been sewing my little rear off.

* Our dear friends and neighbors welcomed a sweet little girl into their family.

This short, little list is only a small snippet of the in's and out's of the Skaug Home lately...but one not mentioned that should be (because it was so fun) is that Jas' Aunt Barb flew in from California for a visit!! She hadn't been to WA since our wedding (almost 8 years ago) and hadn't been home to Moses in 14 years.

Needless to say, it was LONG OVERDUE and we had a great time!
We decided that since she was to be in town that it would be the perfect time to throw a Bridal Shower for her niece, Jas' cousin, Erin.
We had a B.L.A.S.T!!!
Attention to detail is something that Barb and I do WELL!!!
As I would make a suggestion, she would have been countering me with one of her's.

Cut forward to the actual Bridal Shower:
Here are all of the lovely ladies playing
'Shower Games.'

I know that not everyone loves 'Shower Games,' so we kept them to a minimum and painless (i.e. no Toilet Paper Bride, etc)

Here is Barb and Jill putting their two heads together to try and complete one of the games...
We decided that it wasn't cheating because Jill was on some pain killers and not fully functioning.
(She broke her foot/serious sprain right before school was out...a whole nother story)

The gorgeous setting...compliments of Barb and I.
Although, she did most of it.

We had a great time searching for candy to match the color theme of the wedding.

Of course, I put myself in charge of desserts.

Erin was Blessed with some pretty amazing gifts...
A cross for her and Ryan's new home from her sister, Andy.

from her dad and step-momma, Yvonne.

The following morning,
after church, everyone gathered back at Jill and Eric's for Brunch.
Someone said that this is the first time that all 5 original Skaug siblings have been together since our wedding.
A DEFINITE reason to celebrate!!!

Here Eric, Howard and Ray are taking an active role in Brunch.

Barb snuck in there, too...
...but not to cook,

to clean out Jill's fridge.

Jas and Howard took a little break to catch up on an important golf match taking place...
I don't do golf, so I can't tell you the particulars...
I can only tell you that there was some really young guy golfing that looked like I could be his momma.

While the boys were in slaving away in the kitchen,
the girls decided that it would be a nice change of pace to sit and relax and enjoy a moment of sunshine.

Brunch took a little longer to cook than anticipated,

so the girls took a Popsicle break...

Nothing better than the love and generosity of a sister.

OH HOW I ADORE THIS WOMAN!!!
This is Jas' Aunt Marie...
and she is about the funniest thing ever!
We don't see each other nearly as often as I would prefer...
but that may be a good thing,
we could get into A LOT of trouble together!!

OOThere was a joke that followed shortly here after...
something about 'death by powdered sugar.'

Since this is the first time that the sib's had been together in 14+ years,

we took the opportunity to capture it on film.
They are one handsome bunch
(Barb, don't take that wrong...
you're handsome in a 'feminine way.'
